Community First Choice

Enables family members or friends to provide skilled care, personal care, and homemaker services. No Medicaid waiver is required, and many children and adults on the CES or SLS waivers are eligible.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) allows family members 

(parents, spouses, children, relatives) or friends to get paid for caring for their loved ones. This program helps the elderly, blind, and disabled individuals to live safely in their homes. 

Helps individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities live at home with support from a Host Home Provider or family caregiver.

  The CES Waiver supports children ages 0–17 by providing services that lay a strong foundation for lifelong community inclusion. Covered services include Community Connector, Homemaker, and Respite Care.

  Serves adults age 18 and older by providing essential supports that enable individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live in their homes and 

 Available under almost all waivers. This service provides short-term care when the participant’s regular caregivers are unavailable or need relief.
